People are the Wealth
Paul seems to think there is a special crown we receive in the presence of Jesus that is entirely composed of relationships. In eternity, an unmistakable part of your reward is other people.
The living web of relationships we invested in, fought alongside, contended for, and pursued maturity with – that is a fountain of joy and gratitude in Christ's presence.
But like every other reward mentioned in Scripture, it's contingent. God desires this for all of us. But not all will receive it and take hold of it.
For me, it's been a six year journey from "God, I want relationships like this!" to seeing fruit budding on the tree.
There's so much in my heart that God has rearranged in order for me to be able to begin to receive – to even be capable of – these kind of relationships. I want to share a small handful of those practical shifts. (That's the audio file below, 29 mins)
And then below are a handful of resources that might be helpful as you look to invest in your own "crown of boasting" (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20).
"Friend, you were made to burn, and you were made to burn with others. When you go there for someone who is after the same thing, that is the place of highest reward and encounter."
